Important polychrome bronze sculpture depicting a young dancer, inspired by Edgar Degas' famous ballet studies.

This work is a 20th-century decorative edition, made after Degas, and his work Little Dancer of Fourteen Years. It bears a signature as a tribute, as well as an Austrian foundry stamp "Bronze – A.B – Austria", attesting to quality European production.

The sculpture is particularly distinguished by its intentional polychromy, with: a bodice in light, patinated tones, a warm brown textured skirt, subtle gilded highlights on the costume and shoes.

This well-preserved polychrome treatment enhances the visual presence of the work and clearly differentiates it from the much more common uniformly brown castings.

The whole rests on a base of bronze and veined marble, providing stability, elegance, and a strong decorative impact.
