Superb antique bronze sculpture depicting a young boy in work clothes, holding a cigarette, a typical genre scene from the late 19th century.

Work signed Schmidt-Felling on the base, a sculptor renowned for his naturalistic subjects and scenes of life.

The bronze rests on its original marble base.

Very beautiful casting and patina quality, with numerous details (face, clothes, posture).

Please note: slight traces of verdigris on the base, due to the natural oxidation of the bronze over time, which is completely normal for an antique piece and does not alter either the solidity or the general aesthetic of the work. Very slight impact mark on the marbled base at the back, which blends into the material so it is barely visible to the naked eye (see support on the back photo).
