The vase features richly detailed decoration depicting stylized birds in a floral landscape, in a very elegant chinoiserie style. The fine and luminous colors contrast with the sobriety of the classic form.

The V.V. Carraresi signature corresponds to a production of the Italian manufacture Vittorio Zaccagnini & Figli, active in the mid-20th century and renowned for its refined decorations inspired by Asian porcelains.
