Lot of 5 antique bound books – Works by Bourdaloue – 1850 edition – Full leather bindings – 19th century
A beautiful set of five antique volumes of "Œuvres de Bourdaloue", including volumes 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 (volume 3 is missing).
Edition printed in 1850 in Besançon, Lille and Paris. These works feature beautiful antique full leather bindings with richly decorated spines with gilt tooling and "BOURDALOUE" title pieces. The set has a very nice decorative presence in a library despite the natural signs of time on the bindings.
The outer covers are generally well preserved for works of this period, with a beautiful old patina. The interiors, however, show foxing, stains, and traces of time visible on several pages, without preventing reading.
A very beautiful decorative and authentic 19th-century set, ideal for an antique library, a cabinet of curiosities, or classic decor.
