Beautiful set of two antique 18th-century volumes titled "Sermons de M. Massillon, Évêque de Clermont," dedicated to Lent (Volume One and Volume Two), printed in Paris in 1769.

Superb antique full leather binding with spines richly decorated with gilt tooling, title and volume labels, and red tinted edges. The two works form a very decorative set, ideal for an antique library, a cabinet of curiosities, or refined decoration in a classical interior.

The interiors are particularly clean and well-preserved for works of this period, with title pages, headbands, and engraved ornaments present. The bindings naturally show signs of wear and rubbing due to age, visible in the photos, which also contribute to the charm and authenticity of the set.
