Pair of Art Deco bookends with swans in spelter and black marble – France, 1930s
Elegant pair of bookends depicting two stylized swans, made in France in the Art Deco style of the 1930s.
Each piece, made of patinated spelter, features a refined contrast between a deep black body and golden details highlighting the elongated necks and finely stylized wings. The perfect symmetry of the pair enhances its visual impact and makes it a particularly balanced decorative element.
The swans rest on veined black marble bases, bringing stability and character to the set. An original "Marbrerie d’Art L.C. Saint-Étienne" plate is present, attesting to quality French production.
Both decorative and functional, these bookends fit equally well in a library, on a desk, or a console table, in an Art Deco, contemporary, or eclectic interior.
